Woman rushed to hospital after fire crews force entry into Glasgow home

A woman has been rushed to hospital after in Glasgow after mercy crews had to force their way into her home.

Three ambulance crews sped to a property on Tollcross Road in the east end of the city shortly before 10.30am on Tuesday, June 28. The paramedics called for assistance from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service shortly afterwards, with firefighters having to force their way into the property.

The woman was passed into the care of paramedics and rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Her condition is not yet known, nor are the circumstances surrounding the event.

A spokesperson for Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 10.17am on Tuesday to attend an address in Glasgow.

"We dispatched three resources to the scene and transported one patient to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We received a request for assistance from the Scottish Ambulance Service at 10.30am on Tuesday, June 28, to force entry to a dwelling in Tollcross Road, Glasgow.

“Operations control immediately mobilised a fire appliance to the location and firefighters gained entry to the premises.

"One casualty was handed over to the care of the SAS and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
