Woman rushed to A&E with cockroach stuck in EAR - after drowning it with mouthwash

A horrified TikTok user says she ended up going to A&E after a cockroach crawled into her ear and got stuck.

The woman, who lives in Singapore, tried to drown the critter with mouthwash and take it out with tweezers but only managed to pull out some "guts" and "skin" so rushed to hospital to have it properly removed.

In the video, which has had over 500,000 views, the TikTok user, nadia.limzq, explains how she woke up to find the cockroach in her bed and "whacked it really hard".

She said: "I whacked it because I was panicking and I was trying to get it out [of the bed] And when I whack it it f**king crawled into my ear.

"I just got up and I screamed so damn loud. It was f**king disgustingly uncomfortable because I could feel it wiggling in my ear. Honestly right I'm just f**king unlucky because how does this happen to someone?!"

She decided to try and drown it with mouthwash by putting some into the cap, then pouring it into her ear.

"And at this point, honestly I don't think Listerine is safe for your ear but I didn't know what else to do," she laughed.

The cockroach stopped moving but didn't fall out so she used tweezers in an effort to remove it. Unfortunately however this broke the insect into pieces.

"So when some of it came out right, the white guts came out, and like the skin of the cockroach - the f**king, like oh my god, the brown shell came out," she said.

"You don't understand, like, I wanted to puke."

With some of the cockroach still in her ear the woman called her mother, who apparently thought the whole thing was pretty funny.

She then headed to A&E where, she said, the nurses were also amused by her situation.

Using suction and specialised tools, the doctors managed to remove the cockroach in pieces, or as she describes it "leg by leg".

She said that the whole process was "painful".

"They gave me some ear drops for antibacterial but it is mostly out. New fear unlocked," she added.

The woman said the cockroach was not fully grown but was still about 3.5cm to 4cm long.
