A woman was rescued after suffering an ankle injury while out walking at a popular Oldham beauty spot. On Saturday night (July ), Oldham Mountain Rescue were called to the Dovestone Reservoir to help with treatment and rescue of the woman who had injured herself on a hill in the area.
The woman was located at the steep Ashway Rocks and required mountain rescue volunteers to transport ambulance staff to her where she was treated on the scene before being taken back down the hill. 13 mountain rescue volunteers attended the call and spent up to 1 hour 15 minutes on the scene.

Oldham Mountain Rescue Service posted: On Saturday evening, a call came in from North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust requesting our assistance with the treatment and evacuation of a female who had suffered an ankle injury while out walking in the Dovestones area.
The callout officer made contact and established the location as Ashway Rocks, which allowed us to rendezvous with NWAS paramedics and then transport them almost all the way to the scene in our off road buggy, OM5. After a medical assessment, the casualty was taken back down the hill in OM5 and transferred to the NWAS ambulance.
"We wish her all the best for a speedy recovery. 13 OMRT personnel were involved for 1 hour 15 minutes."
