A woman is in hospital after falling at least 7 metres from a cliff in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The woman, aged in her 40s, was walking with a friend at Mapleton Falls on Sunday morning, when she slipped and plunged several metres, before landing on a cliff ledge.
Due to difficult access to the terrain, rescue authorities winched a critical care doctor and a paramedic down to the woman.
She was treated for head and spinal injuries before being secured on a stretcher, and hoisted up into the helicopter and flown to hospital in a stable condition.
