A woman remains in a serious condition in hospital following an alleged hit and run incident in Co Meath.
The alleged incident happened in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday morning on Frederick Street in Ashbourne.
The woman, in her 50s, was removed from the scene by ambulance to be treated for her injuries in hospital.

Gardai have confirmed her injuries “are believed to be serious.”
This morning the scene of the alleged incident close to the town's Bank of Ireland remained cordoned off and two patrol cars remained at the scene.
A technical examination of the scene took place by investigators who combed the area while CCTV from nearby businesses was also gathered.
In a statement to this paper, An Garda Siochana confirmed an investigation into the alleged incident is underway.
“Gardai are investigating all the circumstances surrounding a single vehicle road traffic incident which occurred on Frederick Street in Ashbourne, Co Meath in the early hours of Monday morning, April 10.
“A woman aged in her 50s was taken from the scene to be treated for her injuries which are believed to be serious.”
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
