A woman remains in hospital fighting for her life after being hit by a suspected drug driver.
The pedestrian in her 30s was was hit by a Ford Focus on Hale Road close to the junction with Liverpool John Lennon Airport in Speke on Monday, August 22. Ambulance crews took the woman to hospital with serious head injuries after the crash, at around 11.45pm.
Police have this morning confirmed that she remains in a critical condition. The driver, a 30-year-old man from Speke, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving. He has since been released under investigation.
