BHOPAL: A 32-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an acquaintance on the pretext of marriage for around ten months in Berasia . The case was reported with the police on Tuesday.
Investigating officer SI Sahab Singh said that the survivor is a resident of Gunga locality and she works at a private firm. In her complaint to police, she stated that around a year ago she came in contact with the accused, a resident of Badwai, who is a distant relative and a colleague of her.
SI Singh said that the accused lured her into his trap and promised to marry her.
In September 2020, he moved to a rented flat in Berasia along with survivor and allegedly outraged her modesty by promising to marry her. Since then, he was repeatedly raping her but around few days ago when survivor pressured accused to get married, he went back on his word.
Left with no other option, she decided to approach Berasia police station. Acting on her complaint, a case was registered and further investigations are on.
