Woman MLA's remarks against doctors trigger a row in Kerala

PALAKKAD(Kerala): A woman MLA of the ruling CPI (M) in Kerala has landed in trouble for her alleged rude remarks against the doctors who were on duty at the casualty of a state-run hospital in Palakkad district.

Visibly upset over the "less attention" her fever-hit husband had received while she took him to the casualty, MLA K Santhakumari allegedly spoke in a rude manner to the duty doctors of the government district hospital on Thursday night.

"They (doctors) are facing these kind of things because of their attitude," the Kongadu MLA had allegedly said, apparently referring to the recent gruesome murder of a young woman doctor by a man at a taluk hospital in Kollam district.
