A woman has said she will "never use her oven to make roast potatoes again" after working out a "better" way to cook them.
Roast potatoes are a key component of a Sunday lunch, and are usually made by parboiling potatoes before shaking them and plonking them into hot oil, and roasting in an oven. But with energy prices soaring, many people are looking for cheaper alternatives to the oven.
Slow cookers and air fryers have gained popularity in recent months, as they use considerably less energy.

And one woman has shared her method to making roast potatoes in the slow cooker on social media. Taking to a Facebook group dedicated to slow cooking, she shared a photo of the finished result, and said: "Slow cooker roasties are the best! I'll never make them in the oven again. Didn't need to parboil either. Peeled, chopped, rinsed and dried.
"While I was doing that there was a splash of oil heating in the slow cooker on high. Mixed the potatoes about with a bit of flour, salt and pepper and garlic seasoning and put the potatoes in.
"I put a tea towel under the slow cooker lid to stop any condensation, and cooked for about four hours. Cost 20p in energy and they taste better than [they normally do]".
The post has amassed hundreds of likes and comments. One Facebook user said: "These look amazing, will have to give this a go". A second said: "Looks delicious".
A third said: "Thanks for this I'm going to try this tomorrow".
