A woman has been mortified and devastated after Royal Mail lost some of her mum's ashes in the post. Kayleigh Evans wanted to honour her late mother, Christine Evans, who died at the age of 62 in December 2021 after catching coronavirus.
Kayleigh decided to encase some of her ashes in a silver memorial necklace as a present to her aunt Michelle - who is Christine's only sister. She posted the necklace from Swansea to Colchester, where Michelle lives, on September 21.
But the necklace never turned up. Despite contacting Royal Mail, Kayleigh claims the postal service told her they don't know the whereabouts of the necklace.
