A woman has been left with serious injuries after a "machete" attack in Walton.
At around 12.20pm on Monday, January 16, police received a report that a woman had been stabbed inside a property on Bedford Road. Witnesses said the suspect then fled the scene with a "large machete in his trousers" and was seen heading towards the Breeze Hill flyover.
Police closed off the flyover and the Rice Lane roundabout beneath to traffic, and a 35-year-old man was later arrested. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
