A woman in her 90s has died with COVID-19 in the Northern Territory, health authorities have reported.
In a statement issued this afternoon, NT Health said the woman from Greater Darwin had died at Royal Darwin Hospital.
It said the woman had "underlying health conditions", but did not provide the date on which she died.
Later this afternoon, NT Health said the woman had died on April 29, and the Chief Health Officer had verified her death as being related to COVID-19 this morning.
The territory has now recorded 44 COVID-related deaths since the start of the pandemic.
There are 46 people with COVID-19 in hospital, an increase on yesterday's figure of 38, NT Health said.
Eight of those are requiring oxygen, but, for the first time in almost three weeks, there are none in the ICU.
There were 381 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the territory in the 24 hours up to 8pm yesterday, with 327 of those recorded from rapid antigen tests (RATs).
Of those, 223 cases were recorded in the Top End, 50 in Central Australia, 16 in East Arnhem, 15 in Big Rivers and seven in the Barkly, while 70 are still under investigation.
There are currently 2,359 active cases of COVID-19 in the territory.
