A woman in her 70s was trapped inside a car following a crash.
At around 1.10pm emergency services were called to a report of a crash involving a Land Rover Freelander and a blue and silver Renault Captur near Port Sunlight Garden Centre on the Causeway in Wirral.
Photos of the scene show two fire engines, dozens of firefighters, police and ambulance at the scene.

A woman in her 70s was trapped in the Renault Captur and was removed by emergency services, police said.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue said they understood a person was "taken to hospital for further assessment".
Emergency services remained on the scene for around two hours following the crash and recovery also were in attendance.
Pictures of the scene showed the Renault Captur being recovered near the Port Sunlight Cenotaph with damage to the front on the vehicle and its driver and passenger door missing.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “At around 1.10pm emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving a Land Rover Freelander and a blue and silver Renault Captur near Port Sunlight Garden Centre on the Causeway in Wirral.
“A woman in her 70s was trapped in the Renault Captur and was removed by emergency services.”
