A woman confronted a group of men who "insulted" her and hurled chips, curry sauce and chair at them, a court heard.
Millie Holiday had collected a takeaway after a night out on the town.
But she was furious when a group of men knocked her food out of her hands and flew into a rage.
Her anger boiled over and she ended up appearing in court over her behaviour.
WalesOnline reports the 24-year-old had committed the "relatively minor" drunk and disorderly behaviour offence on April 2 while she was on a night out in Cardiff city centre,
Her solicitor Tom Trobe told Cardiff Magistrates' Court she had bought chips and curry sauce from a business.
"A number of loitering males thought it would be amusing to knock the food from her hands and use unpleasant insults," said Mr Trobe.
"She made the decision to pick it off the floor and throw it at them. She threw a chair also."
During Holliday's first hearing in April the solicitor asked for the case to be adjourned so a Women's Pathfinder course could be considered instead of a court sentence.
The scheme is aimed at reducing re-offending by women in Wales.
Mr Trobe addd: "She is in full-time employment and she had not been in trouble for almost four years,"
"This is a relatively low-level offence which perhaps deserves consideration of a Pathfinder course.
"Unfortunately, because she wasn't interviewed by police, that part of the process was missed.
"Hopefully this can be dealt with through an out-of-court disposal."
The magistrates agreed to adjourn the case and place the defendant on unconditional bail, but the authorities then decided that a court sentence would be appropriate.
Holliday, of Splott, Cardiff, returned to the court on Monday and admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour.
She was ordered to pay a £50 fine, £34 victim services surcharge, and £85 in prosecution costs.
