A woman has been hospitalised after a fire in Lockleaze in the early hours of this morning (March 16). Crews from several different parts of the city including Bedminster and Kingswood were called to the scene at 00.30am, and found there to be a fire in a seven-storey residential building on Morris Road.
The fire was found to be in one of the first floor flats, four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were then mobilised and sent to tackle the blaze with the help of a hose reel and three water jets.
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue said the cause of the fire is unknown at this point.

They added: "Crews from Southmead, Temple, Patchway, Kingswood and Bedminster were called at 00:38 to reports of a fire at a seven-storey residential property on Morris Road in Lockleaze.
"On arrival, crews found one of the first-floor flats well alight. Firefighters used three 45mm jets and one high pressure hose reel to extinguish the blaze. Four firefighters wore breathing apparatus for safety.
"One female casualty has been conveyed to hospital by our ambulance colleagues. Avon & Somerset Police were also in attendance.
"The cause of the fire is currently unknown."
