Woman has neighbour's car towed after they kept parking in her private space

Having private parking outside your home is often a deal breaker for many buyers. The thought of coming home from work after a long day and driving around looking for a space doesn't appeal to many.

The added bonus of parking right outside your home after a shopping trip is also invaluable. However, if one person persistently used your parking space for their own benefit, then you'd really find yourself in a predicament.

One person took to Reddit to complain about her neighbour parking in her spot and when she was forced to walk home in the dark after a hard day at work, her temper got the better of her.

While many would seek the neighbour in question and ask them to stop parking in their spot, this person went one step higher and had their car towed away after contacting a local transporter.

According to the Mirror, the woman explained the reasoning behind her decision online. She said: "I live in a condo where I have one designated individual parking spot that I payed [sic] for. It's labelled [sic] with my apartment number. For the past three weeks, a green car has repeatedly parked in my spot," she wrote.

"I've usually just let them park there and parked my car with free street parking elsewhere, but tonight I came home around 9pm to them being parked there. I had to park a ten minute walk away on a street that's had a lot of robberies recently, and I am a small girl who then had to walk home by myself in the dark (this was very anxiety causing for me).

"This really frustrated me and in the heat of the moment I decided to have them towed."

Despite the decision, the woman then backtracked and said she now feels guilty about the price the owner would have to pay to have her car returned.

She continued: "I really hope that they are financially able to pay and that their car not being there doesn't inhibit their day tomorrow."

However, commenters were quick to reassure the woman she had done nothing wrong for arranging access to the space she pays for.

"You paid for that space and have been nice long enough," read one response. A second said: "You pay for it. Maybe the first few times green car parked there could be chalked up to ignorance about the spots being reserved, but not 3 weeks."

Meanwhile, another person replied: "A warning note may have been a nice gesture since the tow companies will rip you off but you are in the right and something had to be done. You paid almost for a month for something you couldn't use."
