Woman who named dog after Sean Paul finally meets hero - and gets tattoo to celebrate

A woman who named her dog after Sean Paul has gone to an extreme length to express her love for him. Suzanne Downs, from Morpeth, Northumberland, is the Jamaican rap star's biggest fan and listens to his music multiple times a day.

The 44-year-old recently named her 18-month-old rescue puppy 'Shauna Paul' after her ultimate idol, and shared a heartfelt plea to meet him online. On Tuesday night, Suzanne's dream came true when she got to go backstage after his gig at the O2 City Hall in Newcastle, Chronicle Live reports.

Suzanne attended the concert with her three sisters to watch Sean Paul's first UK date of his 'Scorcha' tour, and left with much more than she anticipated.

The trio were invited to meet the singer and got a picture, two hugs, a sweaty towel and an autograph - which Suzanne had inked onto her thigh the very next day.

Suzanne had asked a member of the team prior to the show if it was possible to get a picture with him, and this was made even more clear when her younger sister Aimee, 27, threw her bra at Sean Paul on stage.

The DJs had asked people to chuck their clothes in exchange for backstage passes - and to the delight of Suzanne, they kept their promise.

Suzanne, who works as a nursing assistant, said: "I wanted to just squeeze him. He was very chilled but he was lovely. I told him I'd named my dog after him and he just laughed.

"I tried to get his t-shirt off his back but he was having none of that. He said yes to everything apart from taking his t-shirt of his back.

"The man who did my tattoo didn't know who Sean Paul was. He thought it was going to be a loved one that had passed away.

"He is a loved one but he's hasn't passed away! It's a memory, I will look at it and remember that night."

Suzanne attended Sean Paul's gig wearing a t-shirt with his face on and the words 'Please take me home with you'.

She said: "I had a good time and I wish I could do it all again.

"When I got up this morning I thought oh my god I cuddled Sean Paul. It was definitely one of the best nights I have ever had, normally I just watch Netflix!"
