An incredible baby hailed a 'miracle of nature' has been born with eight limbs.
The tiny baby girl was born in India over the weekend, and is understood to be otherwise healthy.
Born to parents Kareena and Sanjay at the Shahabad Community Health Centre in the Hardoi district over the weekend, the baby has been pictured with four pairs of limbs.
Kareena experienced labour pain on Saturday and was admitted to the hospital – with locals left shocked by the child's limbs.
The infant, weighing just 6.53lbs, was pictured lying down on a set of scales, showing four arms and four legs.
According to reports, family members were upset after they saw the child.
Soon after the birth, the news spread like wildfire in the local area as people gathered to see the baby.
Some said she is the reincarnation of a goddess, while others call the child a "miracle of nature".
In 2019, another woman in the country gave birth to a baby girl with four legs and three hands.
Raju Gurjar hadn't been for any ultrasound scans during her pregnancy when she gave birth to the girl, alongside a healthy twin brother.
It was reported at the time that doctors believed Raju could have been due to have triplets but that two of them ended up being born conjoined.
Limb deformations typically occur in one in 1,000 babies, although humans born with more than four limbs is incredibly rare.
Polymelia, when humans and animals are born with extra - often malformed - arms or legs, is rarely fatal and in most cases can be resolved by doctors amputating the surplus limbs.
