A man arrived home and was found dead slumped on the sofa six hours later.
A murder investigation was initially launched by Merseyside Police after the discovery of the body of Carl Bilsbarrow at his home in a communal block of flats in Feltwood Close, West Derby, shortly before Christmas last year.
Three people - two men and a woman - were arrested after crime scene investigators could not rule out "third party involvement" in the death of 47-year-old Mr Bilsbarrow, an unmarried labourer.
