The body of a woman housed in a Direct Provision Centre in Cork may have lay dead for days, according to a campaign group.
The woman, believed to be from Zimbabwe, was in her 50s, Cork Beo reports.
Her body was discovered in her room at Ashbourne House, just outside Cork city last week.
The campaign group Abolish Direct Provision says her body was only found after family members asked for news about her situation.
A Garda spokesperson told Cork Beo: "On Friday, 4th March, Gardaí attended a premises in Glounthane, Co Cork at 8pm where the body of a woman (50s) was discovered.
"The Coroner was notified and her body was removed to the mortuary at CUH for post-mortem. There were no reports of any foul play.
"A file will be prepared in accordance with the Coroners Act."
