A single woman who found a mysterious shoe in her pocket after a wild night out in the Gay Village has jokingly said she hopes the power of social media will eventually lead her to her 'Cinderella'.
Rachel Haden had been out along Canal Street, Manchester, with friends celebrating her 31st birthday on Saturday night (February 25). She vaguely remembers finding a singular high heel on the dance floor and trying to look around for the woman who had lost it.
Sharing a post to Facebook the following morning, Rachel, from Heywood, wrote: "Gooooood morning Facebook!!!! Soooooo I went gay village last night and long story short, I found a shoe in my pocket this morning so suppose I'm trying to find my Cinderella? Please let the power of fb help meeeee."

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Rachel said: "I went out with a couple of friends who are part of a lesbian group on Facebook and they arranged a group meet-up. We all met in Yates' and then headed off into the village.
"Three other girls I was with ventured off on our little jollies and had a great night. My hands looked like a treasure map with all of the club stamps.
"I think at about 3am I was dancing with a friend in the EVA bar. I think that's where the shoe literally just appeared. I picked it up and had a look around for a girl with a shoe missing. Surely she had to be looking for it too, right? Well then I left the village at maybe 5am on my own in a taxi.
"My other friend rang me and invited me over to an afterparty, and that's when the shoe come out of my pocket."

Rachel comically shared a picture of her holding the shoe in a post on Facebook, in which she hoped it would lead her to 'find my Cinderella'. Somebody humorously commented that the owner of the shoe 'had to leave by midnight'.
"I mean, I find dating rather difficult. It's just awkward, isn't it. That first bit. It's a lot easier to meet someone in the village after a few drinks, but then you don't actually get to know that real person, do you?" she added.
"I obviously said that as a joke, but suppose you never know, do you? The world works in mysterious ways, and there's nothing more mysterious than a high heel being found in my pocket!"
