Woman fighting for life after being hit by car in Glasgow city centre

A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being 'struck' by a car in Glasgow city centre - just half an hour after a pedestrian died in a similar incident in the same area.

Officers are seeking to identify the injured woman after she was 'hit' by a grey VW Tiguan car at around 8.15pm on Elmbank Street at its junction with St Vincent Street on Thursday, February 2.

Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe her condition as critical. The driver of the car, a 57-year-old man, was not hurt.
