A woman has been left in a critical condition following a road accident in Leyton.
Officers rushed to Vicarage Road at 3.51pm on Saturday after receiving reports that a car had hit a pedestrian.
A 29-year-old woman was found at the scene with serious injuries.
She was treated by paramedics before being taken to a hospital, where she remains in life-threatening condition.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.
