A WOMAN and her two dogs have died after being hit by a car in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the B9152 road near the Granish Junction in Aviemore on Friday at around 9.45pm following a collision between a grey Peugeot 207 and a pedestrian.
A 40-year-old woman and both her Husky-type dogs were pronounced dead at the scene.
The 20-year-old male driver of the grey Peugeot was not injured.
The road was closed for around 10 hours before being re-opened at 8am on Saturday.
Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for information and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay, Road Policing North, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the crash or either the car or the lady prior to the incident.
“We believe the lady had been in Aviemore just before and had been walking with her two Husky type dogs at that time.
“If you were driving in the area near where the crash took place and have any dashcam footage of the woman or the car, then please contact police.”
