A man will face a Perth court charged with murder after a 22-year-old woman died following a stabbing in Perth.
WA Police said emergency services were called to the scene of a serious assault at Balga, in Perth's north, about 7.55pm (AWST) on Saturday.
St John Ambulance WA provided emergency treatment and took the woman to Royal Perth Hospital, where she later died.
Police said several members of the community apprehended a 30-year-old man nearby until officers arrived to take him into custody.
The man was charged with one count of murder on Sunday night and was due to appear before Perth Magistrates Court on Monday, WA Police said in a statement.
Detective Senior Sergeant Katharine Venn said earlier that police were grateful to the community members for their sense of justice for the woman.
"We would not encourage people to try and disarm people armed with knives - in a violent incident they could have been harmed themselves," Sgt Venn told reporters on Sunday.
