A woman has died after a huge fire erupted at a house in Carshalton.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters rushed to Pipewell Road at around 10.46am on Thursday to tackle the blaze. Half of the ground floor was damaged by the fire..
One woman was rescued from the building by firefighters and rushed to hospital where she was later pronounced dead, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police,” the LFB added.
Firefighters from Mitcham, Sutton, Wimbledon and Twickenham attended the scene.
