Woman dies after falling ill at Restricted Forest Festival

A woman passed away in hospital after she fell ill at the Restricted Forest Festival.

The woman was pronounced dead at Royal Blackburn Hospital on Sunday following the festival at Blackburn's Witton Park on Saturday. Police attended the hospital at 3.30pm yesterday after receiving reports of a sudden death.

Police said they received reports that the woman was taken to the hospital the previous day after falling ill. They confirmed her death is not being treated as suspicious, Lancs Live.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called to Royal Blackburn Hospital at 3.30pm yesterday (June 25) to reports of a sudden death. It was reported that the previous day a woman had become ill at a music festival in Blackburn and after receiving medical attention had been taken to hospital where she sadly died.

"Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to HM Coroner in due course."
