Police have issued an appeal after a woman had a sentimental necklace containing her dead husband's ashes stolen. Thieves made off with numerous items from the parked car, including the jewellery, on Standfield Drive, Worsley, on September 8.
Among the items was a silver chain, with a green and silver round pendant. Police said that it was of 'low monetary value' but contained the ashes of the victim's recently deceased ashes and an outline of his thumbprint.
The victim is said to have been left 'significantly distressed' following the theft of the necklace. Police are appealing for any information to find the item, but fear it may have been discarded.
