A woman is hoping to be reunited with a man she sat next to on a TUI flight that she felt she had a "connection" with. Jane Annakin, 53, flew from Lanzarote to Manchester Airport at 12.30pm on Sunday, October 9 and whilst in the air, got chatting to the man next to her for four hours - the full duration of the flight.
She says she dashed off when they said goodbye, but now regrets her decision to have not asked for his number. Jane believes fate brought them together as she had initially booked a different seat on the plane, however changed it the night before departure.
The holidaymaker says she must have "changed it for a reason". Speaking to the ECHO, Jane said: "We were on a row of four seats and I was sitting on the end and he, his mum and I think his stepdad came.
"I just said to him, 'look if you don't want to talk during the flight, that is fine', because I can literally talk the hind leg of a donkey.
"I said 'I will read my book' and he said 'no, no, I like talking'. We literally spoke for the duration of the flight which was like four hours or so.
"He just opened up and told me so many things that you wouldn't tell a stranger. We just got on so well and it was so refreshing to have a conversation like that and click with someone like that."
When they got off the plane, the man offered to help with her suitcase, Jane says, however she then "dashed off" without asking if they wanted to exchange numbers - which she now regrets.
She added: "It was one of those moments where he said 'it was lovely to talk to you, I have really enjoyed talking to you' and then I kind of dashed off. It was one of those moments where I thought why did I dash off?
"Why did I not just say 'do you want to exchange numbers'? He might not want to.
"I am sure he is single but he might not be, I am nearly 100 per cent certain he is. He might not want to meet up or anything and that is fine.
"I just thought, I can't lose anything by doing it. I can only gain from this."
Jane said she was sitting in seat 17F and the man was in 17E on flight number TOM2755.
She believes the man's name was Paul, however she is not sure on this as she is "hopeless with names", is from Wigan and in his 40s.
Jane says she is aware that the man might not want to get in contact, but wanted to try as she is a "hopeless romantic".
