A woman was cut from her car and taken to hospital following a crash in Oldham. Emergency services responded to the incident in Oldham Road, Grotton, shortly before 11am today.
The smash involved a van and a car and resulted in the latter vehicle landing on its side. A woman in her 50s was taken to hospital after firefighters cut her free from the car.
The extent of her injuries are not yet known. Pictures from the scene showed a badly damaged red Peugeot car which appeared to have had its roof cut off.

Images also showed debris inside the car and on the road surface, near to the junction with Hillside Avenue. Following the incident, the road was closed in both directions for a short period of time.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters responded to a road traffic collision on Oldham Road in Grotton just before 11am. A car and a van have collided and a woman in her 50s was trapped in her car, which was on its side.
"Firefighters and the North West Ambulance Service worked closely together to safely recover her. She has been taken to hospital. The road was closed in both directions."
