Woman claims haemorrhoid cream is key to 'zero wrinkles' - as she's used it for 10 years

The skincare industry is swamped with endless creams, serums and lotions that claim to achieve everything from banishing blemishes to brightening your skintone. But one spot that remains the most difficult to treat is the under-eye area, as eye creams tend to only offer a temporary fix rather than a long-term solution.

Those who suffer from dark under-eye circles can usually thank genetics for the issue, and while there's a whole host of eye creams out there that claim to target fine lines and discolouration, the eye cream market remains controversial as many experts claim you simply can't get rid of dark circles or wrinkles without taking more drastic measures like under-eye filler. Despite this, one woman believes she's found the holy grail of under-eye treatments that banishes wrinkles for good, and it comes from an unusual source.

Taking to TikTok to champion her discovery, the woman, who posts under the name @ sheetaldeo1 on the platform, has revealed that she uses haemorrhoid cream to reduce eye bags - and she argues it delivers incredible results.

Claiming that the product will "get rid of all your under-eye wrinkles in less than three days", the woman shared footage of herself talking to the camera while sharing details of her trusty product.

The TikTok user says that she is "done gatekeeping" the hero cream and insists she's "not making it up".

In the video, which has amassed more than 150,000 likes so far, the woman explains why the unusual trick works: "Most people don't know that the skin under your eyes is the same skin as your b*tt hole".

"So basically what the haemorrhoid cream does is that it reduces the puffiness and fine lines," she adds.

Praising the cream for its miraculous results, the woman insists that she's sworn by the strange skincare trick for a decade.

She continues: "I've been using haemorrhoid cream under my eyes for 10 years. I am 32-years-old and I have absolutely zero wrinkles".

"When you age, the first place that it shows is in your eyes, so go ahead and get yourself some haemorrhoid cream."

The 32-year-old reveals that she keeps the trusty cream by her bed, and uses it every night before she goes to sleep.

Insisting that the treatment is the only one that skincare buffs should plump for, the woman boldly claims: "This is better than any eye cream out there".

Ending the clip with one small caveat, she claims that it takes 8 days to see the "full effect" of the cream.

Many commenters have boasted their familiarity with the hack, as one claims "This is an old trick done by models and pageant girls".

Another says: "When I worked in fashion in the 90s all the models used it".

Other TikTok users complimented the woman's skin, with one commenter saying: "32 & no wrinkles show me the way".

Another added: "Y’all it works I’ve been doing it for a week now and my undereyes look SO SMOOTH even when I apply concealer and powder."

Not everyone was convinced by the alleged skincare trick, as some suggested that the treatment can thin your under-eye skin over time.

One said: "I thought using haemorrhoid cream can cause damage to eyes as well as thin the skin", to which the woman who posted the video replied "use one without hydrocortisone" as this is the ingredient that can thin the skin, according to her.

Another person added: "As a nurse PLEEEASE don't use this daily, it thins your skin. This skin is already too delicate. No hate".

The woman replied to other comments from those asking which cream she used in particular, urging people to choose a cream without any steroids in it.

One person wrote: "I'm gonna try it!! Thanks!!...seems to me that all these expensive eye creams have way more harmful ingredients and don’t even work!"

Kim Kardashian 's make-up artist, Mario Dedivanovic - who is more widely known as Makeup by Mario - has previously advocated for using haemorrhoid cream under the eye.

According to People magazine, during a make-up masterclass in 2017, Mario said: "It tightens the skin. That's a really old, old trick. It smells really bad but it works".

Other celebrities including Amanda Holden have been known to use the hack.

However, there is no conclusive scientific evidence to back up the use of haemorrhoid cream under the eyes, and some dermatologists have warned that anyone with sensitive skin or acne may experience irritation.

The Dermatology Review website says: "If you have sensitive skin, it may sting and cause temporary redness when you first apply it".

"However, keep in mind that not everyone always reports side effects, and often individuals may attribute a skin reaction to the wrong product."
