A suspect has been charged with murder after the body of a man was found in the street of a sleepy village.
Wigan dad-of-two Liam Smith was found dead in the street on Kilburn Drive, Shevington, on the evening of Thursday, November 24. Greater Manchester Police said the 38-year-old was allegedly subject to a "fatal gunshot wound and acid attack".
Rachel Fulstow, 37, has been charged with murder and perverting the course of justice. Fulstow, of Andrew Drive, York, has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court today, Thursday, February 23.

Michael Hillier, 38, of Ecclesall Road, Sheffield, has also been charged with murder and appeared at Manchester Crown Court last month. A three-week trial has been scheduled for July.
Fulstow is the fifth person arrested in the investigation. Three other men - aged 22, 25, and 35 - have also been arrested and subsequently released on bail.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Liam’s family continue to be supported by specially-trained officers and are aware of the progress being made in this investigation."
Mr Smith's family previously described the former electrician and soldier as "kind-hearted, funny, the life and soul of any party". They added: "He was the most devoted dad, much loved son, brother, grandson and uncle. He will sorely be missed by all who knew and loved him."
