A woman caught performing a sex act on a man in A&E barricaded them both in a treatment room and then faked a fit after police forced their way inside.
An ambulance had been called for Shannon Baker, 25, who was taken to Yeovil Hospital with a male friend.
She had 'insisted' on being seen after a medical episode despite hospital Covid restrictions, Somerset Live reports.
The pair were given a room to wait in and a shocked security guard caught them in the act as they wanted for a doctor to see the woman.
When the police were called, they obstructed the doors so officers couldn't get inside.
After breaking through, Baker, from Yeovil, Somerset, faked having a fit on the floor in a bid to avoid arrest.
She pleaded guilty at Yeovil Magistrates Court to causing a nuisance or disturbance to an NHS staff member who was working at the hospital and refused to leave the premises when asked to do so.
Prosecutor Emma Lenanton said that said that the defendant was taken to Yeovil Hospital by ambulance after suffering a suspected medical episode and was accompanied by a male who was told he could not enter the building due to covid restrictions.
“The male was later allowed entry as staff were concerned about what he would do if he was not, and they were taken to a room,” she said.
“The door was closed as both of them were under the influence of alcohol, and they then had a takeaway in the treatment room.
“Witnesses then said that whilst being watched by security they were engaged in a sexual act together. They were challenged then became aggressive and attempted to barricade themselves in the room.”
The police were called and when officers arrived the defendant was feigning some sort of fit to try and prevent being arrested, they were told.
Appearing unrepresented, Baker told the court she had been drinking a lot at that time but had now managed to get off the booze.
She also went through several traumatic experiences in her personal life and admitted she had relapsed back onto drugs but was now working with Turning Point to address her issues.
The district judge told Baker: “This was not an insignificant incident and you caused worry to many members of NHS staff.”
She fined the defendant £120 with a £34 victim surcharge but no costs.
