The mystery of a locked safe is enough to make almost anyone curious, and a woman recently had the exciting experience of prying one open.
Tiffany bought a hoarder's former house on auction and when she arrived she was surprised to see that it was still filled with items. One notable item was a sealed safe which the 28-year-old says she says led to a phone call to the police after hours of work to get it open with a grinder and a pickaxe .
She also found vintage TVs and old furniture in the home, making her realise that the property was a worthwhile investment.
A video of the safe's opening was shared to social media with many fans keen to see what was inside. The clip received over 1.7million views and was liked just over 190,000 times by curious followers.
Tiffany's findings included an engagement ring, old photos, rare bills and a World War II dagger. She also found something that she's not allowed to talk about, reports the Mirror.
Documenting her discovery on TikTok, where she uploads as @misstiffanyma, Tiffany said: "After hours of watching the contractor grind, pick axe and hammer away at the safe, we finally got it opened and, oh my God, what we actually found was insane.
"We found some heirlooms like an engagement ring, a bunch of photos that could definitely be used as blackmail, a tonne of rare bills and old coins that are probably worth more than a Birkin.
"We even found a World War II dagger that was for the bad guys, but honestly, the craziest thing we found, I’m not even allowed to tell you guys, because we have to get the police involved."
Tiffany, from Los Angeles, California, bought the house with her partner, Matt, and has been renovating it bit by bit - starting with emptying out all the contents from the previous owner. She received thousands of views on her story, with people commenting about the secrets of the giant safe and guessing what was in it.
One user said: "Someone’s ID, and chunk of hair, in that photo album..."
Another wrote: "Grenades? In my dad's house they had undetonated grenades in the basement from when grandpa served."
A fourth commented: "I’m feeling like the thing you can’t mention is either a bunch of driver's licenses or a body part."
And another guessed: "Pictures of missing people?"
