Woman brought a shower caddy to Costco’s food court, and 2 million people are now reconsidering everything they know about shopping

A woman has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a simple trick to make the Costco food court experience easier. The video has gathered over 2.1 million views and has people rethinking how they shop at the warehouse store.

TikTok user Steph, known as @djcrudele, posted a video showing her using a blue shower caddy at Costco. According to Brobible, she places two drinks and food court items, like a chocolate chip cookie and a chicken bake, into the caddy’s compartments, then drops the whole thing into the child seat of her shopping cart.

On-screen text in her video reads: “Can’t make a Costco trip without the shower caddy.” Her caption says, “protect the $1.50 wieners people (I love u @Costco Wholesale).” The comments section filled up quickly with people ready to try the idea.

The shower caddy hack sparked a wave of creative Costco shopping tips from others

One viewer said “I want to thank you for your contribution to society.” Another wrote, Now they’re gonna sell these at check out. “ Someone joked, “Costco is going to wonder why everyone in line has shower caddys now 😭😂

In a follow-up video, Steph responded to a commenter who challenged her to come up with a pizza hack, even suggesting she should “work for NASA.” She showed a square plastic craft container with paper plates inside, where pizza slices could be stacked easily. She estimated it could hold “at least three” slices, making it useful for carrying pizza without making a mess.

Not every viral moment ends so well, though. A New York woman who tried a viral TikTok trend ended up in the emergency room in a wheelchair. Other Costco members on Reddit have also shared their own tips. One person said they keep a small cooler in their trunk and grab a couple of cool packs on the way out to keep perishables fresh during the drive home.

Staying mindful while traveling also helps avoid costly mistakes, much like the woman who left $3,000 worth of belongings at an Airbnb and had to knock on a stranger’s door to get them back.

For carrying food court items, some shoppers recommend using a shallow box or reusing the sturdy boxes that hold Kirkland nuts. Others use drink holder trays from fast-food restaurants, which work well for carrying multiple beverages around the store.
