Woman blasts 'selfish' train passenger who hogged space and refused to move

While long journeys and commutes are known for being incredibly uncomfortable, a decent seat and some additional legroom can help ease the burden of the gruelling journey.

One woman was appalled, therefore, after a "selfish" passenger on board her train hogged up the leg space of her seat and refused to move.

Neena Jha - who posts under account @DrNeenaJha - claims that the "entitled" man had an "awful attitude", otherwise, she would have willingly offered her leg space.

Sharing a snap of the man's leg to popular social media site Twitter, the woman questioned whether it was rude to "kick his leg away".

Alongside the photo, she wrote: "UGH!! Sat next to a really selfish guy who refuses to move his leg from my space.

"Rude to casually kick his leg away?!"

Explaining the situation further, Neena said: "I would have happily let him have my leg space if he had been polite about it. He just had such an awful attitude & claimed my space as if he was simply entitled to it.

Since sharing the dilemma on Sunday 28 May, the Twitter user's post has raked in 1.2 million views and over 1,700 comments to date.

Blown away by the attention the post received, Neena said: "Gosh thank you all so much for all the advice! I'm so awful at speaking up & standing up for myself, definitely need to work on that...

"My fave suggestion was casually pulling out one leg hair of his at a time with a pair of tweezers. Priceless."

Alongside a photo of the now empty seat beside her, she added: "I just stretched my legs out & he's left in a huff!! What a win."

Upon sharing details of her uncomfortable journey, Twitter users fled to the comment section to discuss the troubling dilemma.

One person wrote: "That's taking the p***. I would actually ask him to move his leg under his seat."

Meanwhile, someone else said: "What on earth…this is aggression. Totally unacceptable."
