A woman who was arrested after a Land Rover crashed into an end-of-term tea party at a Wimbledon prep school, killing two eight-year-old girls, has been released under investigation.
The driver had previously been released under police bail.
In an update on Thursday, a Met Police spokesperson said: "A 46-year-old woman from Wimbledon who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving is currently released under investigation.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
Unlike being released on bail, a person released under investigation is under no time limits or requirement to return to a police station by a certain date, and no conditions.
Nuria Sajjad and Selena Lau died after the Land Rover crashed through a fence and collided with a building at The Study Prep school on Camp Road on the morning of July 6.
Several people, including a seven-month-old girl, were also taken to hospital and were later discharged.
A major incident was declared in the wake of the crash which saw more than 30 police vehicles sent to the scene, and 15 ambulances.
Shortly after Selena’s death, her family paid moving tribute to her as an “intelligent and cheeky girl" who was “loved by everyone".
Nuria’s family described her as the “light of our lives”, saying she “embodied joy, kindness and generosity”.
The child's father, Sajjad Butt, told the BBC in November that the couple are left with "a deep hole" and they struggle to "find any sense of purpose".
The school is for girls aged four to 11 and sits on Wimbledon Common, just a mile away from the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, where the Wimbledon tennis tournament was underway when the crash happened.
