Woman, 65, fighting for life after suspected hit-and-run in Lewisham

Police are appealing for information after a woman in her 60s was left in a critical condition following a suspected hit-and-run in Lewisham.

Officers were called at around 10.13pm on Friday, October 31, to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car on Southend Lane in Bellingham.

The victim, a 65-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where she remains in a life-threatening condition. Her family has been informed.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Paul Jackson, from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “If you were on Southend Lane or in the local area at the time of the collision, please look back to see if you remember anything.

“This callous incident has left a woman in a life-threatening condition. Our thoughts are with her family at this worrying time.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have dashcam footage.

“If you can help police, please urgently call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit witness line on 020 7960 8044, quoting reference 9111/31NOV25.”
