Woman, 39, dies at popular cold water therapy camp used by celebrities

A woman has died at a popular cold water therapy camp frequented by celebrities.

The 39-year-old, who has not been named, was said to have been taking part in a session at Buxworth based centre Breatheolution in the Peak District on Monday.

She was pulled from the water and CPR was carried out, with paramedics called at roughly 4.15pm.

Despite first responders best efforts, the woman - reported to have been with a group from Manchester - tragically died at the scene.

Kevin O'Neill, founder of Breatheolution, confirmed the incident had taken place at his camp, Manchester Evening News reports.

He said he was 'still trying to process' what happened and did not wish to comment further.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "At about 4.15pm on April 25, paramedics called us to the riverside off the B0602 between Bridgemont and Furness Vale, where they were treating a woman who had been in the water.

"The woman sadly died at the scene. A file is being prepared for the coroner. She was 39."

The camp, which charges up to £200 per person, has previously been visited by the likes of Coleen Rooney - who was snapped there last October - as well as actor Stephen Graham and former Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.

Coleen was joined at the camp by her brothers, Joe and Anthony McLoughlin, and posted: "What a way to start the week…Monday morning in freezing cold water."
