Detectives investigating the murder of a 36-year-old woman say she was ambushed and brutally attacked by a stranger as she walked along a street in the early hours of Sunday.
Officers named the victim of the attack in Ilford, east London, as Zara Allena, who lived locally, pending a formal identification.
Police swarmed Cranbrook Road at 2.44am on Sunday morning after receiving a call from the London Ambulance Service.
