Woman, 30, dies three days after rush-hour incident on tracks at Euston Underground station

A 30-year-old woman has died in hospital three days after an incident on the tracks at a busy London Underground station during rush hour.

Detectives from British Transport Police are investigating the incident at Euston Underground station last Tuesday and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Victoria line services were suspended shortly before 9am on March 10, as emergency services rushed to the southbound platform in response to the incident.

The woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where she sadly later died on Friday, March 13. Her family has been informed.

Officers have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Police believe the station would have been particularly crowded at the time, and say a number of people may have witnessed what happened but have not yet spoken to officers.

Anyone who was present and has information is urged to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 145 of March 10.

Video footage showed passengers being led though the driver’s cab and onto another train before stepping onto the platform at Euston last Tuesday.
