Wolves defender sends teammates urgent Joao Felix warning ahead of Frank Lampard Chelsea return

Nelson Semedo has warned his teammates about Joao Felix ahead of Chelsea's clash against Wolves at the weekend. Frank Lampard will be hoping to get off to a winning start as the Blues' caretaker manager when the two sides lock horns at Molineux on Saturday afternoon.

Felix was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window but, once the west London outfit entered the race, he opted for a switch to Stamford Bridge instead. Despite only featuring a number of times for Chelsea, the 23-year-old's impressive performances quickly saw him become a regular in Graham Potter's starting lineup.

The Portugal international has made a great impression since arriving on loan from Atletico Madrid, and even Todd Boehly is said to be a huge fan. While there is no guarantee that Felix will feature against Julen Lopetegui's side, Wolves are clearly aware of the forward's ability to cause them some problems.

In an interview with Wolves' official website, Semedo heaped great praise on his fellow countryman. The 29-year-old said: "He’s a great player and a great guy as well. I really like him as a person, so on Saturday it will be a good battle, but I hope it will be an enjoyable game.

"He’s a very good player so we know that we have to be very careful with him. He’s good with the ball at his feet and we’ve got to be at our best to stop him.

"Between 3pm and 5pm, we won’t be friends, and I’m sure at the final whistle there will be hugs, but he’s my opponent, so during the 90 minutes, we will not be friends."

Ahead of what is set to be a momentous occasion for Chelsea, Paul Merson has predicted the Blues to get off to winning ways under Lampard. In his column for Sportskeeda, the former Arsenal midfielder wrote: "This is a hard one to call because at the end of the day, there's nothing in this football match for Chelsea.

"They have a match against Real Madrid on Wednesday night. Chelsea are going to rest every player and if they do, they won't score many goals. With a new manager coming in, however, they might try to win this game to gain a bit of confidence before going to the Bernabeu. It's a bit of a catch-22 situation for them.

"Six weeks ago, Wolves would've thought they would be playing against Chelsea while fighting a relegation battle. They wouldn't mind this fixture too much now because it's not the hardest game in the world anymore, with Chelsea facing Real Madrid next week.

"N'Golo Kante was brilliant against Liverpool. You wouldn't have realised he was out for so long, would you? His return is like a new signing for Chelsea. I'm not sure they'll play him against Wolves this week - they could save him for Real Madrid.

"Chelsea are creating chances but haven't been able to score goals. Sooner or later, they're going to hit the target. I don't think they'll go another game without scoring a goal, and I think they'll win this game."
