Wolves have appointed Vitor Pereira as their new head coach following Gary O’Neil’s sacking on Sunday.

The Midlands club announced the news on Thursday with the 56-year-old penning an 18-month deal.
According to Sky Sports, Wolves have agree a £800,000 compensation package with Saudi Pro League club Al Shabab to bring Vitor Pereira to Molineux.

Pereira Faces Tough Run Of Fixtures To See Out 2024
First up for the new Wolves boss is a trip to fellow relegation-strugglers Leicester City on Sunday, December 22.
The fixtures don’t get any easier for Pereira as he welcomes Manchester United to Molineux on Boxing Day.
Then it’s a trip down to Tottenham on Sunday, December 29 to round out the festive period.
Wolves Move Swiftly After Sacking Gary O’Neil
The West Midlands club are 19th in the Premier League table, and parted ways with O’Neil following Saturday’s home defeat to fellow strugglers Ipswich Town.
There were ugly scenes at full-time as tempers flared amongst Wolves’ players and staff.
With O’Neil relieved of his duties, Wolves looked to make a swift appointment for his successor and appear to have got their man.
Former Porto and Olympiakos boss Pereira, 56, has now left his previous job at Al Shabab in the Saudi Pro League.
Pereira took over at Al-Shabab in February, securing an eighth-placed finish last season. They are currently sixth after 13 games, with seven wins.
While at Porto, the Portuguese manager won the 2012 and 2013 Primieira Liga titles. He then lifted the Greek Super League with Olympiakos in 2015.
Wolves Have Lost Their Bite
Gary O’Neil was dismissed at the weekend with the club four points from safety.
Losing to fellow relegation-threatened Ipswich was a gut punch, meaning it was 11 defeats in 16 Premier League games.
Wolves made the decision to sack O’Neil, making him the first Premier League boss to lose his job this season.
Wolves chairman Jeff Shi said: “We’re very grateful to Gary for all of his effort, dedication and hard work during his time at the club, and we wish him and his team the best of luck for the future.”
