Woky Ko has announced the relaunch of one of its flagship Bristol restaurants and is offering the first 200 customers 50 per cent off to celebrate. It will be the first time the city centre site on Queens Road has fully reopened for eat-in dining since the pandemic in 2020.
The popular Bristol Asian fusion chain is the brainchild of renowned chef and TV personality Larkin Cen, who appeared on the BBC's Great British Menu this year. He met great success with his Blue Planet Hot Pot on the programme, which was then offered to a limited number of diners in a sell-out series of pop-ups.
Celebrated chef Larkin has reimagined the menu in light of its grand reopening and will reintroduce authentic Chinese dishes inspired by classic Hong Kong and Sichuan cooking. He will be returning to his head chef role at the site and will also run the pass.

Speaking on the reopening, Larkin said: “What I have created is our finest work to date, something deep-rooted in authenticity and a product of many years of learning the craft that I love as well as cooking dishes that I am incredibly passionate about. I am delighted to be back in the kitchen full-time for the first time since the pandemic and running the hot pot event made me realise how much I missed cooking.
“I am now presenting a menu that brings me tremendous joy and pride. Woky Ko was created for the sole purpose of providing a portal to the culture from which our food originates. I believe that Chinese food is underrepresented in the UK and via Woky Ko I believe I can take our customers on a journey through the cuisine that I love.
"As a thank you to all of our fans as well as all of those who came to my hot pot event and those who sadly missed out, I am presenting to you our new menu.”
On the new menu, stand-out dishes include handmade baozi and satay fish balls that Larkin has said will transport you to the smells and sites of Hong King's street food scene. Won tons will also take pride of place, along with fried chicken, Cheung Fun noodle rolls served with fried chicken, braised pork and vegan fried chicken as well as house-made dandan noodle soups.
Natural wine bar in Bedminster, KASK, will curate the wine list, which will offer drinks pairings for the dishes.
The Queens Road restaurant reopens on Tuesday (September 13) and bookings for the launch week are now open on the Woky Ko website. It has a cover of 30 offering an intimate dining experience.
To celebrate Larkin’s return to the kitchen alongside the new menu, the team at Woky Ko are offering 50 per cent off the entire food menu to the first 200 people who book to attend in the opening week. Customers should note that the discount will only be offered off food items between Tuesday (September 13) and Saturday, September 17, 2022, up to a value of £35 per guest. It will apply to evening bookings only.
Each one of the Woky Ko's four sites around Bristol - two in Wapping Wharf and one in St Nicholas' Market - offers a different dining experience. Woky Ko is also opening its first outlet outside of Bristol in Birmingham next month, but the team is bringing the new menu to its home city before it appears elsewhere.
Woky Ko is located at 7 - 9 Queens Rd, Bristol BS8 1QE and reopens with a new menu on September 13, 2022
