It seems that it is not just Boston Celtics assistant coach Will Hardy who is in the mix for a potential shot at becoming the next head coach of the Utah Jazz following news of longtime Jazz head coach Quinn Snyder’s decision to step down from helming that particular Western Conference franchise.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski recently reported that Celtics assistant coach Joe Mazzulla is another name up for consideration for the Jazz head coaching gig and that permission to talk to Mazzulla about the job has been granted. Mazzulla joins Johnnie Bryant of the New York Knicks, Charles Lee of the Milwaukee Bucks, Jazz assistant Alex Jensen, Miami Heat assistant Chris Quinn, former Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts, and of course fellow Celtics assistant Hardy.
“The list will grow longer with assistants and former head coaches,” wrote Wojnarowski, who tells us to “expect a lengthy, wide-open process” from former Boston team president Danny Ainge and the rest of the Jazz front office.
