The Boston Celtics are not done making moves at the NBA’s 2024 trade deadline after all, with word from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reporting that the Celtics are making a deal for a Philadelphia 76ers wing. The senior ESPN reporter reports that the “76ers are trading Jaden Springer to the Celtics for a second round pick.”
“The 2024 second-round pick the Sixers will receive from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Jaden Springer is the more favorable Chicago or New Orleans,” reports the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompeii on the draft compensation that the Sixers will get for the deal.
The Celtics will not need to open a roster spot for the deal to work, but will likely send out one of their deep bench players on a minimum deal, or less likely, by cutting them, ahead of the 2024 deadline.
