Basketball sensation Caitlin Clark, widely credited with elevating women's basketball, is releasing a picture book this autumn inspired by her own life.

Random House Books for Young Readers announced Tuesday that EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams, featuring illustrations by Adriana Predoi, will be published on Nov. 3.

The rhyming verse book, inspired by an inscription above Clark's childhood mirror – "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little EXTRA" – shares a message about effort and support.

Clark said in a statement: "Basketball has given me so many incredible opportunities, but what has always meant the most to me are the people who’ve supported me along the way.”

She continued, “I hope this book reminds kids that they’re never alone in chasing their dreams and that giving a little extra to the people and moments is what makes them EXTRAordinary."

The 24-year-old Indiana Fever guard recently returned to action after an injury-limited season. She scored seven points on Saturday in a preseason victory against the New York Liberty.
