During his performance at the Beach Please! Festival in Romania, Wiz Khalifa was reportedly charged with illegal drug possession for using marijuana on stage. The Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Constan?a Territorial Service initiated criminal proceedings against the US citizen for unlawful possession of drugs. Khalifa was found in possession of over 18 grams of cannabis and was seen consuming cannabis in the form of a craft cigarette during the festival.
Following the incident, Khalifa was taken in for questioning but later released from custody. Possession of marijuana in Romania can lead to a sentence of up to 10 years in prison. In a statement, Khalifa expressed that he did not intend to disrespect Romania and acknowledged the country's authorities for their handling of the situation.
Known for his open advocacy of marijuana use, Khalifa has previously admitted to attending his son's parent-teacher conferences while under the influence. He shared that his son may also be exposed to the scent of marijuana due to his frequent consumption habits, revealing that he smokes approximately 30 joints a day.
Despite the legal implications of his actions in Romania, Khalifa remains unapologetic about his love for weed and has vowed to return to the country without any public displays of marijuana use in the future.
