Without Sin debuted on Monday and aired on four consecutive nights before concluding on Thursday but ITV viewers couldn't help but comment on lead actress Vicky McClure's appearance in the drama.
The psychological thriller has been available to watch on ITVX since December 2022 but this week ITV gave viewers the chance to see it if they missed it.
Line of Duty star Vicky stars as a mother, Stella, who confronted the man convicted of murdering her teenage daughter after he reached out from behind bars three years on from the horrific killing.
Since her daughter's death, Stella became a recluse wrecked with guilt and remorse at the events of the night her daughter was killed.
In a shocking turn-of-events, her daughter's supposed killer Charles (Johnny Harris) helped Stella find out what really happened to her daughter after protesting his innocence.
However, ITV viewers were left distracted throughout the four episodes as they commented on Vicky's appearance, with the actress sporting long locks rather than her signature cropped look.
One tweeted: "Just started #WithoutSin. That wig is really distracting," and another wrote: "#withoutsin Vicky McClure could have done with a better wig."
"I just cannot take this seriously with her in that effing wig, it’s SO distracting! #WithoutSin," a third added while another said: "That wig really is dire.. How on earth did Vicky McLure agree to that monstrosity? #withoutsin."
Someone else shared: "#WithoutSin #itv great acting but Vicky McClure what a terrible wig. Don’t the directors and designers realise this when they are filming?"
Before it aired on ITV, Vicky spoke out on acting and co-producing the drama.
She said: "We are absolutely delighted that a hugely successful company such as Left Bank Pictures wanted to work with us, sharing the same beliefs with BYO’s vision to create equality of opportunity.
"I am also thrilled to be working once again with my good friend, and one of the UK’s finest actors, Johnny Harris, along with members of Nottingham’s The Television Workshop. To be filming in my home town is a dream come true."
