It will be a challenging task, but senior defender Sandesh Jhingan expressed on Saturday that the Indian football team aims to defeat Maldives and Bangladesh without conceding a goal in the upcoming international matches. India is set to host Maldives in an international friendly on March 19, followed by a crucial clash against Bangladesh on March 25 in their opening match of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifying third round.
Both matches will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, marking the first time the Meghalaya capital will host international games. The match against Maldives will also witness the return of the legendary Sunil Chhetri from international retirement.
